MDCAT 2024 Controversy: PMDC Halts Medical Admissions Amid Court Orders

ISLAMABAD: The Sindh High Court (SHC) and the Islamabad High Court (IHC) issued restraining orders, which caused the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) to halt MBBS and BDS admissions across the country.

The courts are looking into claims of anomalies in the 2024 MDCAT, including as out-of-syllabus questions in Islamabad and paper leaks in Sindh. Due to the scrutiny surrounding MDCAT scores from Dow University and SZABMU, which are valid throughout Pakistan, admissions cannot proceed.

“All public and private medical colleges have been instructed to halt their admission processes until the courts issue final decisions,” PMDC President Dr. Rizwan Taj stated.
